The Energy Management Expert (EGE) is a professional figure that has been well-established for some time in the landscape of technical competencies most relevant to pursuing concrete objectives in energy efficiency, energy savings, and environmental resource conservation, in all possible fields of human activities, both in production of goods and services, and in improving quality of life within a sustainable framework.

Since the implementation of Legislative Decree 102:2014, which defined specific competencies for EGEs in preparing energy audits, mandatory for large energy-intensive companies, there has been continuous development of regulations and government initiatives supporting energy efficiency and savings, in which EGE tasks and competencies find wide application possibilities.
